In January of 2014 I was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia which was treated with antithymocyte globulin (horse serum) in the hospital followed by 1.5 years of immunosuppression (cyclosporine). I was drug free for a year before finding out that I had fully relapsed in June of 2016. I am now back on cyclosporine which my body is not responding to a second time and so I will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant sometime in the next few months.
